Quite a few days back I came across an image shared by someone on my friend list in Facebook which said, "WE ARE A NATION OF LIONS RULED BY DONKEYS". Honestly my reaction to this was the most commonly used acronyms on Internet while chatting LOL, LMAO & ROFL. A nation of lions, if the lions heard this I am certain they would most likely think of commiting Hara Kiri.
I mean seriously we need to think over it. We are ruled by a bunch of donkeys as we ourselves are a bunch of donkeys falsely under an impression that we are lions. Lions are a symbol of courage, might, honour, leadership, grace and above all pride and most of us Indians lack all of them. We don’t have the courage to come out of our burrows of security. We curse about the things wrong about our nation, but we forget the nation is a reflection of what their people make it to be. Our decisions, votes, protests, public voice etc which make up the democracy are most often not governed by rational or logic but rather by hate politics, religion, casteist vendettas, mob mentality and most of times by the paranoia and phobia of being a social outcast.
First & foremost to begin with we all curse democracy and what it has given us. I would say the most important thing the power of vote and the power to elect your representatives that’s what it has given us. See for yourself all around the world countries in turmoil and state of chaos which have been ruled over by tyrants, dictators and autocrats. We don’t realize this essence of ideology of democracy. Look at it over the years how our electoral process has reformed wherein you have all information about the election candidates online just a few clicks away but who cares. I mean seriously how many of us actually go to the Election Commission Website and go through the credentials of the candidates before deciding who to vote for. Even the educated working middle class which often cries hoarse over issues like corruption, inflation, black marketing etc. and has access to this information yet we just go and vote as an exercise to get over with in a jiffy so that we can enjoy the rest of the day granted as a National Holiday. Our decision to vote is largely guided by factors like anti incumbency, caste and religions, superficial short term populist schemes, slander agendas etc. I mean where does our sense and logic vapourize in analyzing election manifestos and candidates credentials. Where does the intellect of the Lions of the nation go at this point of time.
Anti Corruption Crusade has been the flavour and talk of this country over the past many months. Nowadays its an “IN THING” to talk about Lokpal and how it is going to bring an end to the evil of corruption that has dogged our country and hampered growth, development and the socio economic upliftment of the poor and downtrodden. Once again a travesty of a huge proportions riding on the crest of a populist movement we all have failed to encash on the power that democracy has vested in us in the law making process. Most of the people who are on the streets asking for a Jan Lokpal, well wouldn’t haven’t even cared to read the draft of the bill drafted either by the civil society or by the government and yet we are on the streets crying our hearts out that we need this bill to curb corruption. All I can remember is an old story I read in my Hindi textbook in school “Andher Nagri Chaupat Raja”. Founding fathers of this nation have vested great powers in us while drafting the constitution that as a common man you can question both the government and civil society about the details of this bill. Rather we are more than happy to sit back and let some others fight for us and meanwhile we enjoy the jokes on Thokpal and how we have enjoyed sadistic pleasures in hate filled, slanderous, derogatory, demeaning and character assassinating campaigns against individuals and a family and even more belittle the cause as how we laughed, rollicked and howled when a man slapped a politician in public. Where has the pride, honor and leadership of the Lions of this nation go at this point of time.
Finally in more recent times the opposition to FDI retail vehemently opposed by majority particularly in political class by the likes of Mayawatis, Mulayam Singh Yadavs etc who have always been forefront in playing caste and faction based politics. Whenever a farmer commits suicide the whole nation speaks in unilateral tone to help the farmers of this country. A move that benefitted the farmers of this country largely has put on the back burner only because that would destroy the major moolah that goes into the pockets of the Middle Men and Brokers for whom this country is nothing less than Utopia for doing business. Agreed that this would have hit the unorganized retail sector but what we are unaware because of the existence of this multiple distribution channels we end paying 400% more on the selling price of the manufacturer. There are ample examples of Indians having established successful independent convenience stores in UK & USA and taking on the might of Walmart, ASDA, Woolsworth, Sainsbury, Tescos etc. What are we scared of? As a ordinary middle class person I would have to pay lesser for essential commodities and that transform into greater savings or increased spending power. Why doesn’t the unorganized retail, the middle men and the brokers have the courage to restructure and reorganize their business’s to take on these so called Retail Giants. Where has the courage and hunting skills of the Lions of this nation go at this point of time.
If we really believe that this nation needs to change and there should be a change in our political leadership we the people of this nation need to change first. A nation can be ruled by lions only if the people in them are really lions that’s the power of democracy.

The Story of a Relationship Guy
Well guys and girls for a change I am not going to write about politics, society or any of the social issues. For the first time I am going to write on Love and Relationships. And the best part of it ... It's the Guys Side of the Story.
Again when I write I need motivation, this time well the credit goes to the movie Pyar Ka Punchnama and last week an article by Tanvi Trivedi in Ahmedabad Times about Dump That Loser. I mean it's high time girls always talked about how their Ex's were mean and dumped them or girl's point of view how guys never take relationships seriously blah blah and all the things they say about relationships and love. I am putting the perspective from the male bastion because there are again myths or notions I would like to enlighten upon which always demonstrate men as the perpetrators and women as the victims. No Ways !!!!
First of all I am one of the most vehement supporter of women's liberation and equality of gender. I guess then why does spending money on dates, eating out, cafe meetings etc has to shelled out by the guys. Where does equality of gender go in such a case ? Gone for a toss. Wait now here is the best part if we ask you to share "We are Being Cheap" or "We are not demonstrating chivalry". Question is why doesn't gender equality come here. I guess even you must be working somewhere earning a decent salary why not go dutch.
Another cliche which is so much heavily in favour of women who fully utilize the actual context in which weaker sex term is given to them. When a guy quits a relationship he is a heart breaker, casanova, immature, not committed etc etc. Why is it when a woman quits a relationship it's only either compatibility issues or no future in the relationship. Why is it only the guys are painted in a bad picture when it comes to relationships going kaput. I mean can't we have compatibility issues. Can't we have the right to think that probably the road ahead is not fruitful for both of us. Is is it the sole properitary of females to think that way. Do women who quit on relationships get termed as heart breakers or immature or non committed .... Answer No. The poor guy who has quit on a relationship will be so badly potrayed in the work place or college that poor soul would have a tough time getting into a new relationship, but for our so called WEAKER SEX .... Not even a moment. So girls don't you think you get an unfair advantage here? Don't you think there is a bit of prejudice towards females in general over here by the society? ..... Think Over It !!!
The biggest difference of opinion between men and women is their expectations. Men have very few expectations in terms of the attributes or the qualities that they seek in their life partners or girl friends etc etc. Ideally if you ask any guys he would just have two to three things on the top of his mind which once satisfied he is most likely to be happy and probably quite unlikely going to ask his girl/date/wife to change anything about her. Whereas women carry like a checklist of must have attributes of their Mr. Right which probably has all the attributes that are so typically ever present in mushy mushy romantic movies and novel protagonist who are just a fancy material and a pure creation of fiction and never are even close to men in real life. Even if they find the 50% of the things that are there on their checklist they will try to instil the remaining 50% in their man and after a few months we get to hear the once used and abused cliched dialogue "YOU HAVE CHANGED". God damn it you were the one who changed everything about me and now you are saying I have changed. What do you want from me woman ?
When guys are going all goo goo gaa over you and make you the centre of their world we again hear this patented dialogue of femaledom ... "Why Don't You Give Me Some Space ?" ... "Why don't you do something about our future ?" .... "Is our future secured ?" ... "We can think of marriage only when we can afford a good living for ourselves ?" And the poor guy once he gets into putting his heart, soul, blood, sweat and tears on building the future for "US" pat comes another commonly used dialogue "When did I ask that you should earn so much ?" ... "I just wanted a normal life with normal earning nothing extravagant ? "... "You're priorities have changed I am no longer important for you, YOU HAVE CHANGED ?" ... The best here we can related with the Pyar Ka Punchnama dialogue when the guy does nothing his girl friend criticizes him for doing nothing and when he becomes Batman even then she has a problem because now he is Batman and not a normal man. Girls please give yourself a break learn to be happy with what you have. Don't expect too much that you make lives and relationship miserable for both yourselves and us the guys.
Another interesting point, since I spoke of the SPACE in the previous paragraph it's a very important topic on which I guess most of the time guys and girls end up fighting in a relationship. If we guys keep asking you about who you are friends with, where are you going clubbing and socializing, who were you on calls with etc etc the usual questions a so called very very very important objection is raised that we should learn to give you space or we are such a jerk or stop being such a male chauvinistic pig or don't you trust me. And the moment we start give you a little extra space another bombshell dropped on us "What kind of a man are you ... Aren't you possessive about me ?" ... "Do you even care for me or not ? What if something happens to me while I am out ?" and lot of other similar things ... Where do we draw the line I am confused and so would a lot of guys who read this article not only agree with it but those who are in a relationship would most certainly agree with it. I can already imagine the mixed emotion of smile, consent and despair that is written all over their faces now.
Other most common thing I have noticed that comes up in relationship issues time and again .... "FRIENDS". Let's face even if you have a best friend but certainly behind each other's back you leave no effort in criticizing her or making remarks about her dress sense, style, hair cut, figure etc etc ... For guys friends are like blood brothers. We don't tolerate criticism for each neither can we hear shit about each other. So don't go about saying please don't compare your friends with mine. My friends have got some standards and they are highly decent etc etc .... Well Dear Girls Standards My Foot. Friends are friends you can keep your's and we will keep our's and let us all learn to live in peace :)
Another interesting point when it comes to friendship especially with people of opposite sex. Why is it that we have to look at your friendship with other guys with objectivity and broad minded approach and why are we made to feel that we have been guilty of some unholy sin of being friends with another female or going out once in a while with her is like nothing short of a apocalypse. If you would have lifted the pall of insecurity and jealousy probably we would never have to be secretive about our friendship's with other females for we don't fear the result of it but rather we fear the storm that follows it. Please no double standards here All Friendships with Opposite Sex are to be measured with same yardsticks.
I guess the best part of the article is now what I am going to bring up where most of the times couples end up fighting i.e. Sex for Guys and Making Love for Girls. If we ask for sex or start getting physical with you ... "What's the hurry ? ... "Is it the only thing in our relationship ?" .... "I am not sure whether it's the right thing to do ?" .... "Stop being so desperate and Cheap.". The flip side of this if we stop showing our intent for sex here comes the world's most beautiful lines "I don't think so you're interested in me anymore ?" ... "There is no passion in our relationship anymore." ... "Are you sleeping with someone else?" ... "You don't love me anymore." ... Now tell me where should we guys go. If you want to do it, it's all ok but if we want to do it, it's like we have once again opened a Pandora's Box.
Well guys and girls I can go on and on about so many things that cause confusions, mix up, breakups, splits and barriers in a relationship. But the bottom line is one simple message for both guys and girls
Guys - Every girl wants to be treated like a princess. Please do so because she would in turn complete your happiness but don't become a dog trying to make her the princess of your life.
Girls - Place try to be happy with what you have. Don't try to expect too much out of the guys for we are also humans and not Gods. Learn the basic fact that nobody is perfect.

We The Critics
First of all before writing this blog post special thanks to my family members and friends especially my cousin sister Meena whose appreciation and kudos propel me to write on my blog. As most of my previous posts have been a spur of the moment creations on a certain incident, book, movie or a conversation that I would come across in my daily life and if I think I could provide a different wholistic view which would I guess at times be at vehment opposition with the notions of the massess and majority of the people.
This time my source of inspiration has been this one particular note http://www.facebook.com/notes/nitin-gupta/the-curious-case-of-rahul-gandhi/10150165037156384. Being on a social media platform I noticed most of the comments in favour of this article but the most surprising and perplexing part of it was that I was unable to find a single comment questioning the claims made in this post or challenging the authenticity or questioning the gentleman who wrote this post regarding his supposed revelations in this article.
Even before I proceed to discuss some interesting information about this piece of garbage in the name of article that has been written I would just like to clarify I have no political affiliations to any party or anyone. I hate all politicians in all total equality and yes somewhere down the line as an ordinary citizen I have been a victim of the absolute mockery of democracy and the farce that political class plays with Constitution of India.
Before going anywhere to this article my first question why does the gentleman who has posted this article has made an explicit reference to his educational credentials and the institute from where he has passed out. Why couldn't the article be written as a voice or an ordinary citizen of India sans the merit of his education ? Is it to add credibility to this article or to indulge in harbouring responses or appreciations on the behest of the prestige of the institute ? Has he provided a provision for us to authenticate his credentials. I write this article as a voice of an ordinary citizen, even I am a work professional who has studied from an institution of considerable value but it has got nothing to do with my views on politics, society, system, religion etc. Mahatma Gandhi who has been referred to in this article time and again had itself said to Practice first and then Preach. I guess its very easy to point fingers without realizing the fact that three of them are point back at you.
Keep the above point apart, my gravest concern was the appreciation it has received without people even caring to do a check on the Acts, Laws, Principles and god knows what all things. We the ordinary citizens time and again lament the fact that we are taken for a royal ride by the master manipulators existing in the form of politicians, media personnel, capitalists and many other entities of our society but all of us forget to the basic thing of self analysis and ask this question to ourselves WHY US ?
Well I probably might have an answer to this question, which I don't know how many of you would agree with is the simple basic reason is that we citizens are so involved in the hum dingings and grinds of our daily lives that we fail to educate and enlighten ourselves and are imprisoned by the false stories and myths of politicians, religious fanatics and TRP hungry media professionals who have time and again exploited our ignorance and repead rich rewards and all we have ended up doing is crying hoarse.
First let me raise my specific concerns about the article posted by Mr. Rivaldo aka Nitin Gupta. He refers to eligibility of Sonia Gandhi becoming the Prime Minister on the basis of Provision in the Citizenship Act and Principle of Reciprocity. It's nothing less than a big joke. Eligibility of a person for the position of Indian Prime Minister is stated in Article 84 of Indian Constitution which cleary states a person has to be an Indian Citizen and nothing mentioned about the person being citizen by birth or by naturalization. Mrs. Gandhi is a legal Indian Citizen by naturalization as per THE CITIZENSHIP ACT 1955 i.e. She was married to an Indian National and was staying in this country for more than 7 years. Secondly, making references to principle of reciprocity what are you talking about. Principle of Reciprocity applies between two countries in terms of bilateral treaties and international relations that is specific in terms of trade benefits, duty concessions, copyrights and extraditions. Where does amendment in the constitution fall in all this ? If that is the case, then I guess countries like Fiji, who once had a Prime Minister of Indian origin will demand the same from India now as per this Principle of Reciprocity. Please even now I have started to doubt whether you really belong to intellectia of IIT standards to even make any kind of reference to this principle. And above all its a principle, not a practice or a law.
Second, about Rahul Gandhi using his name as Raul Vinci a fact which he has clearly accepted stating that due to security reasons he was forced to do so. Here are some articles to substantiate the proof http://www.indianexpress.com/news/newsweek-apologises-to-rahul-gandhi/21088/1, http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report_rahul-completed-education-in-us-under-a-false-name_1251616. There are lot of children of people of political lineage across the world who assume pseudonym's to complete education when their life is under threat and specifically when your grand mother and father have been assassinated in terrorist attacks. Even he didn't have the educational qualifications I guess its an absolute mockery that a firm like Monitor Group hired him or was is it again because of his political clout that he got the job. Do you now challenge the sanctity of an Institution like Trinity which has given a written clarification on this matter.
The article makes references to Mahatama Gandhi and his principles time and again stating does Rahul Gandhi follow them. Does Mr. Rivaldo himself do that ? Gandhiji said see no evil, hear no evil and speak no evil. This jibe of his against education and his identity and all everything is nothing short of what our political class does stooping down to the levels of assassinating a person's character and remarks I would say are nothing short of a diatribe.
Please Mr. Gupta, stick to the issue don't go personal. I would ask each and everyone of those who have read Mr. Gupta's article and who would be reading mine did anybody even care to find out or know what this issue at Bhatta Parsual was all about. It's was just another piece of news for all of us. But Mr. Gandhi with all his political entourage enters the scene and is arrested and everybody in the nation is concerned about the Forceful Land Acquisition Act and exploitation of the farmers. Guys, where was everybody till then. Appreciate the fact that somebody uses his enigma as a political scion to make you aware of the issues around you for which you must have never even cared about.
The centre stage of this country right now is that there is a flood of scams doing rounds and hampering our growth and killing the middle class. The point here is not somebody's education or his lineage or the PR savvy tactics that the political Prince of this country is playing but rather we raise our voice and clamour for more transparency in Government by introduction of Lok Pal Bill.
Corruption, is a human mindset, and exists right in the lower strata to the upper strata of the society. It defies all colour, caste, creed as well as nation. Every nation has a certain level of corruption percolating at all levels but what as citizens of this nation we could do is demand for greater transparency and refrain from our own corrupt ways of paying lower traffic fines without traffic receipts, giving bakshish and kharcha pani in RTO offices in order to avoid waiting for queues for driving licences etc.
A request to fight for what is right and fight for what is just. Please don't be involved in petty criticism and focus on the larger issues here. Let's not thrive on sensationalism. Let's not have double standards of criticizing news channel for showing disgusting stories as Breaking News but yet at the same time watch them with heart content. Let's do the basic things first educate and enlighten. Instead of translating articles the article in Regional Language or Hindi please take time off and explain your watchman, maid, office boy etc what Lokpal Bill is about and how is it important for him and make it a voice of this nation.

Lets Talk Peace
Its been really long since I blogged anything for a while due to the rigors of my professional commitment and above all a concrete reason to pen the emotions of my heart and causes which I firmly believe in and want to share with the world.
It was quite some time back when I watched a movie called My Name is Khan, which had shot much into prominence due to the spat between SRK and Bal Thakeray. Well most of those who saw the movie saw it as a depiction of how the world has changed post 9/11 and the division of world post the WTC attacks. But I chose to see a very important yet simple message that the movie conveyed was that the solution to the biggest conflicts and animosity in the world lies in simple things like LOVE, COMPASSION, FORGIVENESS and NON VIOLENCE.
A brief insight into the some of oldest and prominent conflicts in world history like Palestine - Israel Conflict, Jammu and Kashmir Insurgency, Balochistan Conflict, Papua Conflict, Communist and Islamic Insurgency in Philippines and others, one would realize the reason for the incessant conflict and phenomenal human causalities suffered in them have primarily for the reason that the people involved in the conflict are hell bent on the philosophy of an eye for an eye to show the other person who is a stronger and possess the capabilities of inflicting deeper cuts on the other. By neither side relenting and demonstrating the utmost amount of inflexibility they have built themselves a quagmire, the harder they try to retaliate the further they get sucked into a whirlpool of bloodshed and violence.
For those people, who might have a thing or two to say about me that it's quite easy to preach but rather very difficult to practice, during my colleges days and probably a few years after my teens I had a highly violent streak in me and always favoured using retaliation and adamancy to resolve disputes in my favour on my terms. Like any true blue North Indian I prudently believed in squashing everybody like cockroaches, annihilation of those who raised a minutest of tiff with me and above all going to all extremes in order to quench my thirst for retribution. A tryst with few principles and beliefs of His Holiness Dalai Lama and Mahatama Gandhi and my own experiments with the idea of non violence and flexibility had unimaginable and surprising results. By taking the first step and agreeing to display a shred of malleability I was the eventual winner with bulk of my wishes and demands being met which somehow sometime back sounded highly unreasonable to them and that too amicably sans any bad blood.
What I really want to bring to everybody's notice that most of the people living in the modern century believe the current times and situation are no longer deemed fit to implement the principles of Gandhi or His Holiness Dalai Lama, I firmly believe that rather these are the desperate times when we mostly definitely need to implement them to resolve our disputes and conflicts. For the delight of those who believe more in statistical and historical facts if we draw comparison of disputes and conflicts resolved through peace and dialogue as against those resolved by use of force, I am sure the former would be topping all charts and graphs. Truce and treaties enforced by might are never long lasting and would only fan the feeling of discontent. Furthermore, the victor in such truces continuously suffers from a sense of insecurity and above all a perpetual belief of skepticism that the truce would be honoured and anticipating your opponent's every move as a hidden agenda with a sole aim of extracting vengeance.
Even taking the animal kingdom as a point of reference, lions who wrench leadership of pride and it's territory by use of brute force and might, the victor kills all children of the loser in the pride as well as the loser has to live the rest of their days in absolute oblivion and loneliness. Though it's the way nature built them but at the same time they provide an apt demonstration of how that in the longer the use of violence and might to usurp power had an agonizingly painful result for them in the later stage as well as for their children.
The human race today has to learn from the mistakes they made in the past that trees that are born out of the seeds of violence never bear any fruit whereas those brought up with peace and compassion tend to live long and yield a life time supply of fruits. Though it would be very difficult for people in the modern times to take the road of peace and non violence as it's takes tons of patience to travel on it, but if one like me change why can't others too.
Lets live in peace .....

When the Democracy Remained Silent
I was etching to write this on this topic since long but today our 61st Independence Day provided me with the apt moment to write about Hindus of Hindustan who have become an eternal victim of the pseudo secularism and vote bank politics. Whilst we are paying tribute to our fallen heroes of independence and Kargil War, whilst we brag about our diverse social fabric, whilst we feel proud that our stock market shot 1000 points in 5 trading sessions and whilst we celebrate the fact that we are the biggest democracy of the world yet the people of the democracy and their elected representatives remain silent to victimization of Hindus.
Let me firstly make this absolutely clear that I dont speak as person with a fundamentalist or fasicist ideology but as an average ordinary Hindu of the street who has loads of angst and torment supressed within him. While the nation celebrates the Independence, the valley which is the epitome of Hindu victimization simmers again with one issue that caused Hindus to migrate out of Kashmir Valley.
The Holy Shrine of Lord Amarnath was granted land by the State Government and it faced such a vehment opposition that it casued governments to topple. What a pity that a country which is historically named after the Hindu religion which is most prominently professed in India, the followers of this religion have to beg for a piece of land for their holy shrine. Well where is the moral police comprising of VHP, Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal who think Valentines Day, Friendship Day etc are a threat to our religion and our culture. Guys, wake up what about this threat to our culture and religion or is it that you are just meant to torment poor innocent teens who celebrate these days to keep their spirits high when there is pall of gloom all around.
Also quite surprising to me a lot Hindu friends of mine blamed us Kashmiri Pandits for the entire mass migration that happened there. What a pity that instead of laying a soothing touch to us they hold us accountable for what has gone wrong. Well to this I laid my hands on a interesting picture in The Times of India on page 12 on 15th August 2008.
The people in Kashmir Valley have hoisted the flag of Pakistan and celebrated the Independence Day of Pakistan. If all you guys thought this is news well HELLO its not. It has been for years that we as Kashmiris have witnessed this and when the government remains silent on this then I think so all of you get a fair idea what we were up against. After more than 4 decades finally a media house has woken up to this reality and yet this piece of news in lost in obscurity of page 12 and not the front page. How wonderful that in our homeland people have the guts and courage to hoist flag of another nation and celebrate their independence day and yet they get away with it. Shame on us a royal Shame also it speaks for us as an community that how divided we are on issues of our own community.
All this brings back the memories of migration when things like "DOGS AND INDIANS CANNOT LIVE IN KASHMIR" and "INDIAN AGENTS GET OUT OF KASHMIR" were written outside our homes and our parents lived in constant fear. People who raise fingers against us that we should have stayed back and fought can easily say that because they were never on the other side of the gun point. Skeptics who doubt our will to fight while enjoying the comfort of civil amenities forget the fact that we were fighting against government machinery merged with foreign army backed by the support of a majority community in the valley.
Fruit Vendors of Kashmir when couldnt send their goods to parts of India because the Hindu population has blocked the highway at Jammu and they had the audacity to challenge the government that they would march to Muzzafarabad in Pakistan to sell their fruits and PDP leader Ms. Sayeed was openly supporting them. Why arent all these people behind bars for such anti national activities. Yet we tend not to pay attention to these and yet the entire moral police and so called pseudo patriots make huge hue and cry when Mandira Bedi wears a saree bearing our Indian National Flag. I mean how low can these people stoop for cheap publicity and not stand for core issues which they should actually stand up for.
To bring a more fair perspective let us walk out of the valley and come to life in other cities. Gujjars fighting for Backward Status just because being a Majority gives them no special status. Reservations for OBC and ST/SC's increased by decreasing the seats for Hindu Majority Students. Our roadside temples being demolished at free will by the Civil Authorities but when it comes to demolishing such shrines of minortiy communities our civil authorities fear to tread this path fearing a communal backlash. We are till date struggling to build a shrine at the birth place of our Lord Ram and only god knows after how many struggle and clearance have made it possible for us to build the temple at the birth place of Lord Krishna (for the people who are out to criticize me that have I ever been to these places then I have been to Mathura and I was spectator to the tension prevailing due to the mosque adjoining the temple).
At times I ask this question to myself that has being a Hindu in Hindustan been any good as we have been eternal victims of minority appeasing tactics. Though the democracy has given us a lot of power and its a government of the people and by the people but yet the biggest byproduct of this democracy has made the biggest P of democracy i.e. PEOPLE the biggest victims. I hope this post would just work as a spark to ignite us to get together and show those who feel that we are a supressible lot to wake up and unite and fight against this age old injustice.

Modern India - A Modernistic Hypocritic Curry
Before I write this post I would like to thank the gentleman whose archaic thoughts and ideas which I overheard due to his loud tone during my flight back from Goa led me to write this post.
As a precendent to this post I would like to put forth a few excerpts of his conversation with his co passenger which are the subject of my blog from his elaborate views on the modern times (I am translating it to English though the conversation was in most rustic dialect of Gujarati) .... here goes .... "I dont like the idea of self manufactured relation of brother and sister the college students create. Usually guys who become so called brothers are brokers who arrange the SETTING between their friend and his so called sister" ... "I dont like the westernisation of Indian Culture all this Valentines Day, Fathers Day and Mothers Day. What is the need for valentines day to celebrate somebody who laid down his life for love. If one lover dies you will have 70 new lovers lined up for her the next day. The western culture and ideas have spoiled the country" ... "I abhor the idea of girls getting educated. What is the need for them to get educated when all they have to do is manage a household and making rotis in kitchen. Its no use for girls to be ambitious as all they have to end up is as house wives" (these views are certainly going to ruffle a few feathers with the feminists)
These are just a few portions of the intriguing conversation that was taking place in the back row of my seat. The conversation was just about the heights of male jingoism and archaic thoughts that I have ever come across and that too while flying with an airline which has the reputation of having the most loyal educated business class base. The views of this particular gentleman were way beyond my imagination and made me ponder what kind of a sexist, chavunistic and hypocritic society we live in. How conveniently we can be extremely critical and spew venom about issues and ideas at one point of time and conversely be the most avid supporters when the same issues and ideas are beneficial to us. The gentleman in the discussion was then spotted by me flirting and speaking in English (rather fractured English) with a female at the shopping counter of the airport ... All I could say is what a diabolical, two timing, pretender and a male chavunistic pig he was.
I was appalled to know that in a country where the festival of Rakshabandhan began because a Queen in despair asked for help from a person who was not even her blood brother and yet we have people who have disgraced this most sacred bond of love between a brother and sister. Our country has a history of people who sacrificied their lives for one love of their life and then fanatics like these disgust me by saying that love can be so easily replaced. People like him and me have been able to fly nowadays because of the Western Concept of low cost airlines but on the flip side says the Western Culture is to be blamed for the moral rot in the society. How we Indian Males want our better halves to be educated to support the household in the modern times but yet at the same time we want them to be traditional and not moving with the times or be ambitious ... now how bigotic, chavunistic, hyprocitic, mean and selfish is that.
We brag about our high growth rate and pompously pronounce INDIA SHINNING but still educated people of the modern times harbour views which can hardly by any standards be termed as modern or non traditional. Till when will we wear this mask to hide the realities of our society and our double standards. Let us dig deep into ourselves and ask this question have we really changed with the times.
Like one wise man said be the change that you want to see in this world ... so its high time we CHANGED and then we can truly say yes our country is SHINNING.

Western View of Outsourcing
Its been a very very long time since I have posted anything on my Blog but I couldn't find anything concrete to write. Anything with a very strong reason to think over and put the brain cells to function in a full on mode.
The other day while I was in Bombay while I was relaxing in my Hotel Room and nothing to do and it was an ideal time for me to search for good videos on youtube.com to be posted on my orkut profile. It was a small clipping (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9_iQim8Mtw) from the episode of famous cartoon family of USA called THE SIMPSONS. The episode was called Kiss Kiss Bang Banglore which has the American Take on the term India has made so popular OUTSOURCING. I would want everybody to just watch that video before reading this post any further.
When I saw that video I was really really hurt and felt distraught. I mean some people who are sitting in plush offices and studios in America without having visited our country and look at the hardwork that we all put into accomplish things are creating stuff to misguide a country of millions of which 99% of people dont know about our country and only thing that they have ever come close to India is there text books.
At this juncture I was going to ask the people who keep staging demonstrations for Indian Culture and Sentiments - Guys where are you ... we need you now and this is a perfect reason now rather than breaking glass panes and peoples legs on Valentines Day and Friendships Day.
Yes I totally agree that there are lot of things which are wrong with our country and we have issues like Corruption, Human Rights Violation and many more things like that. But no nation is perfect, even they have a huge crime rate to tackle with. I mean what were they trying to project that we are still the country of snake charmers, cows roaming on streets, over crowded cities, narrow streets, traffic jam and cheap and exploited labour. Which India are they talking about. And if we trace the history these Westerners are the people who have taught us how to exploit the weak and fill your cash registers with there blood and sweat.
We have changed and we are no longer the India that is projected in the clip. We are a young and dynamic India which has the power to rule the world. It is our hard work, intellect and dedication to work that is making life for an average American more comfortable and raising their standards of life and making things cheaper for them. Well the people who have been most hurt by the Outsourcing Bug are the lazy bums who had all things coming to them so easily. Atleast we are better in that sense that we dont have lazy bums getting things so easily as they used to in America pre outsourcing.
The real picture is truly something else as compared to what is being projected. The Americans dont realize that with the onset of the Outsourcing there have been more number of new businesses and services created in America to make lives better for an average American Joe as they popularly say. There has been a phenomenal increase in the number of entrepreneurs in America. With our hard work, sheer grit and determination we have helped so many Americans to launch, manage and operate businesses successfully with limited amount of capital requirements which would have been nearly impossible for them before the onset of the outsourcing.
At this point I remember this line from the movie The Guru where the Abhishek Bachchan says "Jitne jyada log aapke khilaf bole is ka matlab ki aap utni tarakki kar rahe hoon". Well let them project whatever they want even there experts know we are the news right now and the hub of all the action. They can still consider us a country of snake charmers and stray dogs and cattles but slowly and steadily we have been making a name for ourselves. We are the country with the highest growth rate of 8%. We are the country with highest number of cell phone users and the highest number of talktime on cellphones. We are the country with the highest number of cable televisions connections. Well they still see our crowded streets but can they see our Delhi Metro Train. Well we cannot help those who refrain to see the obvious.
In a nutshell I would say that all those who are pro outsourcing they have good news that there are lot of people who are ready to buy the outsourcing story and it is going to stay for many more years to come and those in the overseas who are anti outsourcing are the ones are ignorant lot blinded from the truth will go deeper into the pit of darkness, ignorance and poverity.
